French Double Bass Bow, Renaud Garcia-Fons model

This model was developed in collaboration with the double-bass player Renaud García-Fons who explains:

“This Carbow model bow, named after me, is the fruit of several years of an intense and fruitful collaboration with its creator Olivier Philippot. It is an achievement in the evolution of carbon bows for bass players both in terms of sound and performance. Sound-wise, this bow produces a rich sound in both medium and high frequencies and has all the necessary qualities for producing a singing, expressive sound for the bass player. Fundamental frequencies and the speed of sound produced have also been optimized. Concerning ease of play, this bow presents an excellent balance between the stick’s flexibility and its response. This tonicity, along with its camber, produces a very precise rhythmic style of play. Moreover, its balance is optimized in order to produce certain styles of play such as the “sautillé” and the “spicatto”. I will conclude by saying that this bow is my most faithful tour companion”
