From carbon to Carbow
The properties of carbon are not enough to explain the magic of the bows it gives rise to Carbow. Carbow is first and foremost a corporate ethic carried by its creator, made up of innovation, tradition, rigor and openness. This ethic is found in every Carbow bow.
The Technology Carbow
Carbow does not limit itself to reproducing wooden bows in carbon. Carbon cannot be worked like wood.
The sound of Carbow bows is the result of extensive research and proven technology, developed by its creator. Carbow uses the most efficient digital simulation tools, like Catia, developed by Dassault Systèmes or NX developed by Siemens PLM.

The Carbow manufacturing requirement
Carbow only uses top quality materials, selected with the greatest care. Each stick is made entirely by hand, individually, and has its serial number. Our sticks can also be made to measure. It takes between 10 and 20 hours to make a bow. The sticks are varnished in the traditional way, like a wooden bow. This allows any bow maker in the world to carry out maintenance.
Each stick is checked by Olivier Philippot before delivery.
Carbow’s cooperation with artists
We also owe our success to the permanent dialogue that we have established with renowned bowmakers, artists and performers, as passionate and demanding as we are. They often become our friends.
Together, we have spent hundreds of hours talking about sounds, timbres, harmonics, ergonomics, agility, power…to develop our models. We all share the same vocation: to become together true conveyors of emotion…
“My wish is to offer each musician the best composite stick while respecting the tradition of bowmaking”
Olivier Philippot, founder of LNM-Carbow.
